DOGGIE TREAT RECIPES

 BOOT’S SPINACH BALLS

Boots & Snark

Ingredients:
1.   2 (10 ounce) packages chopped frozen spinach
2.   3 cups Pepperidge Farm Herbed Seasoned Stuffing (crumbled), do not substitute
3.   4 eggs beaten
4.   ¾ cup melted butter or olive oil (use chicken broth for less fat)
5.   1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
6.   ½ teaspoon garlic powder
7.   ½ teaspoon Thyme (optional)
8.   For people add 1 medium onion, chopped; omit for dogs 

Directions:
Cook spinach, cool and drain thoroughly
Beat eggs in large bowl
Add rest of ingredients and stir well
Chill mixture if you have time (easier to handle)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Form mixture into hotdog-size rolls and refrigerate 15 minutes
Line up rolls and slice into cookies. Place on cookie sheet; can be close together
Bake approximately 10 to 15 minutes and loosen with spatula
Store in refrigerator or freeze

NEIRDA’S TUNA FUDGE  (*Salmon Fudge)

Ingredients:
1.   2 (6 ounce) cans tuna (do not drain).  Can substitute Salmon for Tuna*
2.   1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
3.   1 teaspoon garlic powder
4.   2 eggs, lightly beaten
5.   ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Mix all ingredients with an electric mixer until well blended
Spread mixture into a greased 9×9 cake pan
Bake covered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
Cut into small squares and store in refrigerator or freeze

Ingredients:
1.    1 cup oatmeal (can substitute rolled barley)
2.    1 lb. ground turkey
3.    1 teaspoon garlic powder
4.    1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together
Spread mixture into a 8 x 8 pan
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
Cut into small squares and store in refrigerator or freeze

Lil ROSE’S LIVER-BLUEBERRY TREATS

Rose

Ingredients:
1.  2 lbs of beef liver – cooked and chopped (boil and use juice)
2.  8 ozs of fresh blueberries
3.  ½ to ¾ cup shredded cheese (any kind)
4.  1 – 2 eggs
5.  cinnamon to taste (optional)
6.  rice or spelt flour – enough to make a cake or brownie like consistency

Directions:
Mix chopped liver, blueberries and eggs in food processor until smooth
Add shredded cheese and cinnamon and blend
Pour into bowl and mix in flour until reach appropriate consistency
Pour mixture into a pan sprayed with oil   (Size of pan depend on the amount of batter / Batter should be ½ inch thick)
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes
Cut into small squares before they cool and leave in pan until completely cooled.
Store in refrigerator or freeze
